Dear Friend of Politics with a Punch,

Join us on Thursday night May 28 for a big event, the kickoff to the
8th season of Politics with a Punch.

It will be another unforgettable edition of Politics with a Punch, our
local version of “Politically Incorrect.” It is a fast-paced,
free-wheeling, no-holds barred discussion of what is happening in our
city, state and nation. We place a premium on having a good time and
expect plenty of laughs as we discuss the controversies and the
outrageous antics of our local leaders and scoundrels.

The show is held monthly on stage before a live audience at the
Cricket Club, 2040 St. Charles Avenue , one of the most exquisite
facilities in town. For the added comfort of our guests, we are
providing not only on-site security, but valet parking as well. The
doors open at 6 p.m. for Punch Happy Hour as the bar will offer a
delicious menu of specialty drinks for our patrons.

As usual, Punch begins at 8 p.m.
For this special show, we have picked some of our all-time favorite panelists.
Check out our outstanding line-up of celebrities:

* Becky Allen, Queen of New Orleans Theater, Superstar Entertainer
* Sean Callebs, Reporter, CNN, New Orleans Bureau
* Renny Martyn, Star of Reality TV show “Big Brother”
* Phil Melancon, Musician, Entertainer, and Songwriter
* Mikko, Actor, Comedian, and Playwright
* Nick Spitzer, Host of NPR’s “American Routes”
* Mike Theis, Morning Show Host, Mix 92.3 FM

On our star studded show, we’ll cover all of the major issues and
controversies of the day in a light hearted and humorous manner with
our unique Politics with a Punch style. Here are just some of the hot
topics we will address:

Nagin in his “State of the City” address announced that City Hall will
move to the Chevron Bldg. Guess What? Chevron says not so fast, he
jumped the gun again!
Stacy Head e-mails revealed! Along with misspelling & profanity, she
takes on food stamps, activists, Jackie Clarkson and incompetence.
Give them hell Stacy!
Renee Gill Pratt gets indicted! Only surprise is that it took so long.
Is there any member of the Jefferson “family” who has not been
indicted? Bill Jefferson runs out of options and delays and his trial
will finally start on June 2. Will this Jefferson finally “move on up”
to the big house?
Greg Meffert was supposed to be the tech whiz kid, but he turned out
to be a guy with an out of control credit card who spent thousands at
strip clubs. Nice job!
Ed Blakely leaves. What a disaster! With dripping arrogance, he called
us “buffoons.” The real buffoon was the one who hired him. Good
riddance!
Tracie Washington and Veronica White worked together to get thousands
of council e-mails, but only white members were targeted.
Investigation time?
Nagin said that his trip to Jamaica was all a “blur.” How convenient!
A city vendor pays the bill and he forgets. I wish we could forget the
last 7 years.
Rap Star Snoop Dogg lectures local students on non-violence.
Interesting choice with his rap sheet. It’s the classic case of “do as
I say, not as I do.”
Bobby Jindal is still a traveling man, crisscrossing the country in
search of money and support. Is he presidential timber? What about job
#1?
Super Bowl in Big Easy. We need the good news and the money, it’s
about time that the NFL returned. Was this because of our politicians
or in spite of them?
President Obama makes aggressive moves in first 100+ days. He wins on
the Hill & media loves him, but what will be the impact? Are the
Republicans dead?

With so much serious discussion, it is helpful once a month to be able
to poke fun at some of the hilarious, insane and unpredictable events
which occur in this state. Since 2002, along with Steve Sabludowsky
of Bayoubuzz.com, I have been a part of one political tradition that
has grown into quite a success story.

In our seven years of existence, we have featured some of the top
political, business, comedic, media and entertainment talent in
Louisiana .
I am honored to host Politics with a Punch, an event which has
attracted sell-out crowds for the past several years.

We are expecting another exceptional performance on Thursday night. Special
note, the doors open at 6 p.m. for Happy Hour, the event begins at 8 p.m.

The event features a legendary New Orleans stage star and entertainer;
a respected cable news journalist covering the top stories in the
nation; a personality plus reality TV star who stole the show; a
multi-talented star with the perfect blend of music and comedy; an
award winning playwright and comedic genius; a cherished New Orleans
radio star with a national audience; and a popular morning show host
who captivates audiences with his politically incorrect humor. It
doesn’t get much better than this panel!

Tickets are usually $15.00 per person/$25.00 per couple; however, I am
pleased to offer a limited number of VIP discount tickets at the price of
$10.00 per person.

If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please RSVP
by sending me an e-mail reply. You can also purchase tickets in
advance on-line at our website:

In addition, I need to know the number of people in your party as the
tickets will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

Thanks again for your support of Politics with a Punch. Without you
and other friends, we could not have such successful events each and
every month.

Hope to see you Thursday night!
