The acclaimed 10-piece funky Latin ensemble from Austin, TX, Grupo Fantasma,
is making their way back to the Crescent City. Grupo Fantasma has earned
a reputation as the funkiest, finest and hardest working Latin
orchestra to come of the United States. The band won the "Best Latin
Bands" award at the Austin Music Awards for five consecutive years, and
in 2009 Grupo Fantasma received a Grammy nomination in the category
"Best Latin Rock / Alternative Album" with their critically acclaimed
album, "Sonidos Gold." With sounds deeply rooted in the traditions of
cumbia, salsa, funk, and psychedelica Grupo Fantasma represents a new
generation in Latin music.
