Kicks Off Jazz Fest with Performance at
InterContinental New Orleans

What: The KIPP McDonogh 15 School for the
Creative Arts Jazz Band will kick off the
first weekend of the New Orleans Jazz
and Heritage Festival with a lunchtime
performance in the lobby of the
InterContinental New Orleans. Join us for a
festive lunch to start off the Jazz Fest experience.

When: Wednesday April 22, 2009
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Where: 444 St. Charles Ave., Hotel Lobby

Background: The McDonogh 15 School for the Creative
Arts Jazz Band is lead by Mr. Kelvin
Harrison, a recipient of the Mr. Holland's
Opus Foundation Teacher Award. The
McDonogh 15 Jazz Band is comprised of
students from 4th to 8th grade.

KIPP McDonogh 15 School for the Creative Arts
The KIPP McDonogh 15 School for the Creative Arts opened in 2006. McDonogh 15 is a public, open-enrollment elementary charter school with more than 400 students from pre-kindergarten to 8th grade. KIPP McDonogh 15 is committed to maintaining an emphasis on creative arts in education; therefore all students participate in more than an hour of creative arts each day. The school is run by KIPP New Orleans, Inc. which operates three schools in the New Orleans area.
