Louisiana Technical College-West Jefferson Offers New Casino Dealer Courses



Pre-Registration Held April 6-17 for Classes Starting April 20; Tuition Assistance Available for Qualifying Individuals



Harvey, La. – The Louisiana Technical College (LTC) Region 1’s West Jefferson Campus, located at 475 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey, La., is offering a new Casino Dealer course that lets students stack the chips in their favor for an exciting and lucrative career.



Both novices and dealers with some experience can benefit from the Major Game courses offered as three-hour classes, five days a week (Monday – Friday). Novice dealers’ time line includes Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Baccarat and Pai Gow. For dealers with some gaming experience, Major Game courses time line includes Caribbean Stud Poker, Let It Ride Poker, Three-card Poker, Four-card Poker, Texas Hold ‘Em Poker and Flop Poker.



Pre-registration for all Casino courses will held April 6-17, 2009, for classes beginning April 20 at LTC West Jefferson. Day and evening class schedules are available, as is tuition assistance for qualifying individuals.



Trained and qualified casino dealers can earn salaries in the $30,000 or more range, plus benefits, depending on the employer and employment status.
