New Orleans, LA - March 31, 2009 - Junebug Productions is proud to present the original multi-disciplinary Free Southern Theater Institute production, FINDING JOY IN UNLIKELY PLACES. The performances will take place on Thursday April 16th and Friday April 17th at the Marigny Theater (1040 Marigny St.) from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. Tickets are $7 general admission, $5 for students/seniors/artists. Tickets will be available at the door.

FINDING JOY IN UNLIKELY PLACES is written and performed by Gillian Banaszek, Katherine Corbitt, Frederick "Wood" Delahoussaye, Jordana Fraider, Spencer Howard, Kelly Jacques, Rhonda Lewis, Jean Martinolich, Lorrena Murray, John O'Neal, Ivana Saiti, Devon Thomas, Dana Webb and directed by Junebug Productions Program Director, Kiyoko McCrae. What is community? How is New Orleans shifting post-Katrina? How is culture being "cleansed"? How does racism affect our lives? Through the use of story circle and other forms of dialogue, we addressed these questions and our answers led us to the discovery of joy, resiliency, heartache and beauty in all of our communities. Building on the wide range of talents of the ensemble, this original production was created utilizing poetry, theater, music, movement, and photography.
