an exhibition featuring female artists who lived or worked in New Orleans from the late 19th century through the present

WHY: Women Artists in Louisiana, 1825–1965: A Place of Their Own marks the fifth collaborative exhibition between The Historic New Orleans Collection and the New Orleans Museum of Art. Opening Wednesday, April 15, at NOMA, One Collins Diboll Circle in City Park, the exhibition draws from the holdings of both museums and features more than 50 artworks by more than 40 women artists who visited or resided in New Orleans from the early 19th century to the cusp of postmodernism. Among the artists represented are Caroline Durieux, Colette Heldner, Josephine Crawford, Ida Kohlmeyer and Helen Turner.
