This spring, the Arts Council of New Orleans will celebrate the 26th
Annual Community Arts Awards, recognizing a remarkable group of
individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions
to the arts in New Orleans. The 2009 Community Arts Awards recipients
include:

* Drummer and community activist Luther Gray
* Musician Deacon John Moore
* Visual artist Auseklis Ozols
* Designer/artist Mario Villa
* WWOZ 90.7 Radio
* Volunteer classical music organization
Symphony Chorus of New Orleans

Additionally, the Chairman?s Award will be given to the Joan Mitchell
Foundation for the Art in Public Places project and to Prospect.1
Curator Dan Cameron. Selection of the recipients is based on artistic
excellence, sustained contributions, unusual achievement, perseverance
and a deep commitment to the arts and the community. We invite YOU to
join us in honoring these outstanding recipients.

On Wednesday, May 6, 6:00 ? 8:00 pm, the Patron Party sponsored by The
Windsor Court will take place in the newly restyled Mobil Four-Star
and AAA Four-Diamond Grill Room Grill Room ? one of the most
delightful culinary locations in the city. Enjoy the evening
surrounded by a visual feast of murals by Arts Award winner Auseklis
Ozols.

The 2009 Awards Luncheon will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009, 11:30
a.m. ? 1:30 p.m. at the Audubon Tea Room. FREE Parking. LIMITED
