Archdiocese of New Orleans to Host 2009 Men’s Conference
Office of Black Catholic Ministries to offer seminars on “Reclaiming the Man”
New Orleans – The Hilton St. Charles Hotel has been selected as the site of the 2009 Archdiocesan Men’s Conference to be held from Friday, March 27 – Sunday, March 29, 2009. This year’s event will feature more than five dynamic local and national speakers presenting on a variety of topics, to include: finances, relationships, spirituality and man’s image within society.

The event will kick off at 7:00pm with a Praise and Worship service led by Stephen Lee of Atlanta , GA to be followed by a Prayer Service presided over by Bishop Dominic Carmon, SVD. The event will continue with a keynote address titled, “A Vision of a Man” to be delivered by Deacon Jesse Watley of New Orleans. Friday’s program will continue with a “Brother to Brotha” fellowship and group discussion, and will conclude with an evening prayer service.

The Men’s conference continues on Saturday with a keynote address by Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers of Portland, Oregon and a general session with Fr. R. Tony Ricard. The day will be rounded out with several workshops, dinner and a healing service. On Sunday, March 29th, the event will conclude with morning mass and a commissioning service.
