St. Paul Lutheran Church invites the public to attend a “St. Paul in the Marigny Festival Weekend.” This year, St. Paul Lutheran Church and School, located at 2624 Burgundy Street in New Orleans, is observing its 170th anniversary serving the community.
On Saturday, September 4, 2010, there will be an outdoor/indoor gumbo fest from noon
to 6 PM. Gumbo and other refreshments will be for sale. At 7:00 PM, Capricious Productions will present an original 2 act comedy with music, “Out the Inn.” A diamond theft along with some snakes on the loose make for a wild weekend at a quiet inn where the guests include birdwatchers, a new age guru, a shady senator, and some sassy meter maids. On Sunday, September 5, the gumbo fest will be from noon to 3:00 PM. A matinee performance of “Out the Inn” will take place at 4:00.
Suggested donations for tickets for the play are Adults $6.00 and Children (12 and under) $3.00. All proceeds from the event will benefit LINC New Orleans, a non-profit group that engages in community projects across the city. Those in attendance are also asked to bring canned goods for the Food Bank.
