Cajun Easter Egg Dying Workshop
Sunday, April 5th 1pm - 3pm at the Big Top 1638 Clio Street Come learn a beautiful way to decorate your Easter eggs for your egg hunt, Easter baskets or centerpiece. Pat Jolly teaches us a Cajun Easter Egg dying/transfer process using old silk ties and raw eggs. In "the old days" the Cajun women would save all fabric scraps to use as color transfers to dye eggs. With the invention of color fast fabrics, only silk that has never been washed or to the dry cleaners works to transfer the dyes (and beautiful patterns) to the eggs. Please bring your own raw eggs (in the container) plus any old 100% SILK ties that you are willing to part with, or pick up a few at garage sales or resale shops .... RANDOM Patterns are best ... $5 / Free to Three Ring Circus Members The Big Top is located at 1638 Clio Street near Lee Circle, between St. Charles Avenue and Carondelet Street in New Orleans, 70130 504.569.2700 www.3rcp.com |
