Trio and Bustle In Your Hedgerow on Sunday, May 3rd at Blue Nile!

Marco Benevento initially garnered national attention playing Hammond
B-3 organ and Wurlitzer in The Benevento-Russo Duo, but he shifts the
focus to acoustic piano with The Marco Benevento Trio. Throughout his
new album ?Me Not Me?, released on February 3rd on Royal Potato Family
Records, Marco Benevento proves himself one of the most compelling
sonic innovators of his generation, re-imagining the instrument by
running it through pickups, delay and distortion pedals and a Fender
Super Reverb Amp. The Marco Benevento Trio featuring Reed Mathis on
electric bass and Andrew Barr on drums provides a take off point for
searing post-jazz improvisations. Each has spent their career
complicating expectations and steadily expanding the possibilities of
their craft. At a base level, they enjoy unhindered freedom but also
understand the value of practice and refined technique.
